Rector's palace was the seat of the Dubrovnik Rector in Konavle region since its acquiring in 1427 until the fall of the Republic in 1808. While Sokol tower served as a defensive fortress against the foreign intruders the Rector's palace was a focal point for governing its revenues in Konavle region. Today, the Rector's palace is owned by the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities who take care and renovate the locality.
