Museums and Galleries of Konavle continue with the program on the occasion of marking 2022 as the 100th anniversary of the departure of Vlaho Bukovac.
This Thursday, January 20, 2022, the second thematic lecture was held. Museum pedagogue Petra Kralj Fox introduced visitors to all the members of Vlaho Bukovac’s family, who were important contributors in the social and cultural life of Cavtat.
Visitors learned more about Vlaho’s wife Jelica Pitarević, their relationship and harmonious life together, although somewhat turbulent given Vlaho’s constant migration from town to town. Even though, Vlaho and Jelica raised their four children in European capitals, they always returned to Cavtat. The visitors got acquainted with Vlaho’s brothers and sisters, as well as with the fates of his children: Ago, Marija, Jelica and Ivanka. At the very end of the lecture, museum pedagogue Petra Kralj Fox thanked Helena Puhara, senior museum curator, for her help in preparing this lecture.
In addition to the upcoming lectures that will be held every Thursday at 5 PM in the House Bukovac, an interesting Museum Night program has been announced, which will include online raffle from the House Bukovac. So we suggest you follow the pages and social networks of the Museums and Galleries of Konavle for additional information.
