This Thursday, February 24, Museums and Galleries of Konavle organized yet another lecture in House Bukovac, but this time the theme was traditional carnival costume – Dominal. Museum pedagogue Petra Kralj Fox presented the custom of the so-called Masquerade of lanterns, which is recorded on our coast only in Cavtat. Participants of this masquerade are wearing a specific costume called Dominal, which covers completely its bearer. Gathered visitors had the opportunity to hear what is Dominal, how this custom originated, what were the outside influences on this custom, and how carnival parties looked through the past, and now.
