A documentary film produced by Zagreb Film in 1994 was screened on April 14 at the House Bukovac as a part of the program of marking 2022 as the 100th anniversary of the death of Vlaho Bukovac. The documentary was directed by Bogdan Žižić and written by Igor Zidić.
In this short film, one of the few documentaries about Vlaho Bukovac’s life, we learned about Vlaho’s travels across the ocean, as well as about his voyages on the sailing ship Osmi dubrovački, where he sailed for almost a year as a fifteen-year-old boy, stopping in the ports of Odessa, Istanbul, and Liverpool. We learned about his first American patrons; about study in Paris; his significant works and many more extraordinary deeds.
