On Thursday, May 26, at 5 PM, House Bukovac hosted a presentation by senior curator Helena Puhara on the topic Glen donation, a rich collection of works by Vlaho Bukovac, his daughter Jelica, and sculptor Oscar Nemon, originally owned by Sir Alexander and Lady Zorica Glen, stepdaughter of Bukovac’s son Ago.
The collection consists of ten paintings made by Vlaho Bukovac throughout his various and rich life, one painting by his daughter Jelica, a bust of Ago Bukovac, and medals with the character of Vlaho Bukovac, made by Oscar Nemon. These works were delivered from London in 2006 to the House Bukovac as a courtesy of Lady Jadranka Beresford Peirse and her foundation The International Trust for Croatian Monuments.
This lecture was also an opportunity to thank other donors of the House Bukovac, including Miho Bokarica, Pavo Vukić, the Kušelj family, Anamarija Žuvela, as well as those who had donated or will donate money to buy Bukovac’s painting Konavle weavers: https://www.migk.hr/en/news-detail/item/763-action-announcement-konavle-weavers
