Virtual guided tour of the exhibition “Lights of St Martin’s Nights”

We present to You our first virtually guided tour through the exhibition Lights of St Martin’s Nights currently at the display in Konavle County Museum.

The exhibition consists of the complete collection of original Konavle embroidery items. Those items are embroidered elements of the sleeves and chest pieces. This collection does not only have a high aesthetic value but also huge intangible heritage hidden inside a different embroidered pieces. They convey information on women status, occasions and age thus defining the hidden richness. Exhibited embroideries are displayed without light for conservation purposes and in order to get acquainted with the collection visitors are given flashlight with which they focus their interest. This is the optimal way for preserving light sensitive silk fabrics which in doing made the exhibition more interactive. The Art of Making Konavle embroidery is listed as a protected intangible cultural heritage of Republic of Croatia since 2015.
