38 International Museum Day - Hyper-connected museums: New approaches, new publics

Hyper-connected museums: New approaches, new publics - was a main topic in organising programs for this national manifestations. Contemporary assets that enable new ways of presentation are well used as museum communication tools in widening the audiences. Museums and galleries of Konavle took part with its programs in different museum units.

On behalf of the House Bukovac a little Facebook exhibition „Vlaho Bukovac and music“ was organized. The exhibition was widely spread through digital network and thus enabled a wider audience to virtually visit it. Second part of the program was presentation of audio guide through museum collection made on regular children workshops that can be downloaded to a visitor’s appliances.

Department of archaeology held a presentation of two different approaches to presentation of archaeological sites. UNESCO site St Barbara was presented through 3D photogrammetry and River Ljuta site was presented through audio guide that was promoted to the visitors. River Ljuta audio guide tells numerous stories on the natural and cultural elements of the designation and it can be freely used on a visitor’s appliances.

Konavle county museum had also presentation of audio guide through the museum’s permanent collection. While visiting the museum more than 60 stories on traditional Konavle life, customs, crafts and beliefs can be downloaded to the visitor’s appliances which leads to a better understanding of Konavle heritage.
