On Friday, 4 October 2019, at 7 PM, the exhibition Museums & Galleries of Konavle opened at the Lapidarium Museum in Novigrad, as part of the museum series titled Get to Know the Museums of Croatia. The exhibition features selected pieces from the Konavle County Museum, the Bukovac House, the Department of Archaeology, and the Račić Family Mausoleum. The museum exhibition area presents several different exhibitions that best illustrate the material and activities of the Museums and Galleries of Konavle, particularly the ethnographic material, emphasizing hand-made textile pieces. Considering this topic, the museum features an exhibition titled Svilac svila svilica, presenting the old Konavle tradition of manufacturing silk in the Mediterranean, and a part of the exhibition titled Bits about wool, with the topic of manufacturing, processing, and using wool in Konavle region. The accompanying programme includes guided tours of the exhibition, various audio-visual materials, and educational workshops for children and adults, and it will offer all the guests the opportunity to find out more about the rich cultural heritage of Konavle region.
