This year again Konavle museums and galleries offer its visitors rich program during the Museum Night.
The program started in Heritage Muesum with a children’s workshop Say it to me by Konavle’s proverb where our youngest visitors could recall proverbs that they already know through dance, song and games, but they could also learn new ones. The lecture by Maris Stanović, All Our Years, reminded the public about the history of Heritage Museum, and pictures of the Museum in the Homeland War and after-war renovation into the building we know today were particularly impressive.
Restorer Sanja Pujo, and Gloria Loborec and Dora Mihaljević, students at the University of Dubrovnik who helped children to make clay pots, led children’s workshop at the Archaeology Department. Considering that this year’s Museum Night is dedicated to important anniversaries, Archaeology Department’s program marked the 600 anniversary of Konavle joining the Republic of Ragusa with Jelena Beželj’s lecture Following Republic of Ragusa’s trails along with the current exhibition Fragmented customs from Sokol, and with Marko Vodopija’s lecture which reflected on political and social situation which preceded Republic’s fall on January 31st 1808.
Brass band Cavtat celebrated its 110th anniversary at a children's workshop in Bukovac House. After delighting the audience with their performances, they presented their instruments and handed them over to the youngest who could try them out, to the delight of those present. The last event of this year's Night was the presentation of another picture book from the cycle of picture books on Vlaho Bukovac, Vlaho Bukovac - Growing up I - Vlaho’s seven crust bread. Lidija Crnčević, Jelena Obradović Mojaš and Antonia Rusković Radonić presented the picture book which follows Vlaho’s departure to a boat Osmi dubrovački and the adventures he had, foreshadowing the third sequel to the picture book.
