On Thursday, 30/1/2020 at 10 A.M. at the Archaeology and Heritage Department in Pridvorje, Duborovnik-Neretva County county prefect mr. Nikola Dobroslavić officially opened knowledge promotion centre on the Bluemed project. By implementing DUNEA’s project, after two years of preparing and enabling the location, visitors can immerse themselves in the depths of the sea and interactively browse the rich underwater archaeological site near Cavtat. In addition to county prefect Nikola Dobroslavić, vice chief of Konavle municipality Ivo Radonić, Bruno Bebić for the Development agency, and Antonia Rusković Radonić, headmaster of the Museum, spoke at the opening ceremony. After the dedication talks dr. sc. Domagoj Perkić presented cultural-history heritage of Konavle seabed pointing out the importance of future exploration and presenting what was accomplished so far. Ms. Nikolina Ćuk from the University of Zadar presented ways to access underwater sites and to document sites. Head of the Archaeology and Heritage Department Jelena Beželj led the crowd through the museum space, displaying a diverse digital exhibit, video and sound installations, and a sensory room that depicts the underwater site with lights, colours and sounds of the underwater world. Attraction we eagerly awaited as a part of the Bluemed project was arranged between DUNEA, Konavle municipality, Konavle museums and galleries, Konavle municipality tourist board and Epidaurum diving centre in co-operation with Italy, Spain, Cyprus and Greece. From today, all interested will have the opportunity to view the exhibition during the opening hours of the Archaeology and Heritage Department at the Franciscan monastery in Pridvorje. Working hours from Tuesday to Saturday are from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M., 9. A.M. to noon on Sundays, and the museum is closed on Mondays.
