On Friday, February 14th, a public talk was held at the Bukovac House with the theme of the 35th anniversary of the Little Carnival Fest - a manifestation that was first held in 1976, and after a break during the Homeland War, as an important segment of the Cavtat Children's Carnival program, reanimated with certain modifications. The guests of this event, prof. Jakša Bošković, festival program generator and musician Vinko Brautović, author and performer of many musical numbers, reminisced of the golden times of the carnival in a humorous way. There was talk of the post-war period, of the present, and even several ideas for the future were suggested. The audience was actively involved in the talk about Cavtat's enthusiasm regarding the masquerade. They are a confirmation that the time of the carnival, which is seemingly difficult to replicate in its former form, is yet to come. The conversation was moderated in a dynamic and interesting way by Ivica Puljić.
Visitors could see footage of this year's Little Carnival Fest as well as some archive movies, but also hear rare footage of a unique carnival radio program, the station of Ragus Vecchia, which could be heard on the streets of Cavtat as a real communal radio.
It's nice to feel that the spirit of carnival community in Cavtat is still alive!
