On Friday, February 21, at 6 P.M., the first lecture of the organized Half Hour of Wisdom cycle was held at the Konavle Local Museum. As part of the exhibition Miniatures of Konavle’s Wisdom, Petra Dominik from the Konavle’s museum and galleries spoke about the Konavle’s proverbs. The gathered had the opportunity to hear how the proverbs come about, how they survive for so many years and how we can analyse them all. In addition to the linguistic analysis of proverbs that can convey Konavle’s speech, the use or lack of use of some proverbs tells us what social changes have taken place, and by examining the deeper meaning of proverbs, we can read what life in Konavle used to look like. Everybody who is interested in this story about Konavle will have the opportunity to hear it in the second lecture, which will be held on March 6^th at 6 P.M. at the Konavle Heritage Museum.
