Robotics workshops at House Bukovac

A series of free robotics and screenless programming workshops for five-year-olds, preschool and lower primary school children were held at the House Bukovac. The first part of the workshops were held on June 24th and second part on July 1st.

The participants had a chance to get acquainted with various robots while programming the Cubetto robots. The Cubetto set consists of a small wooden robot called the Cubetto that allows you to give it a commands with various blocks (tiles) that are stacked on the Cubetto control panel. According to the given commands, the Cubetto robot moves. Thus, at the workshops, the participants learned how to develop computer thinking and programming without the use of the screens.

The workshops were leld by the Futura Informatics Club and Technical Culture Association of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the City of Dubrovnik, in cooperation with the Laboratory for Intelligent Autonomous Systems (LARIAT) from the University of Dubrovnik and Museums and Galleries of Konavle. At the end of the workshops, the participants received a certificate of a successful completion of the workshops.

Through these workshops we participated in the European Robotics Week 2020 and the European Programming Week 2020.

Museums and galleries of Konavle consist of the:

Konavle County Museum, House Bukovac, Department of Archaeology and Račić Mausoleum.
