Four of Bukovac’s paintings from the collection of the House Bukovac have been borrowed for the exhibition Vlaho Bukovac – The Art of Imperishable Beauty, which visitors to the Belgrade Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Gallery can visit from December 24, 2020 to March 28, 2021. In addition to a rich collection of paintings from Serbian museums, interested audiences will have the opportunity to see works from the Modern Gallery in Zagreb, the National Gallery in Ljubljana, the Ortodox Church Municipality in Dubrovnik and the House Bukovac in Cavtat.
Vlaho Bukovac visited the Serbian court on several occasions, where he portrayed members of the royal family. Among the portraits painted over several decades, through four visits to Belgrade, the Portrait of Queen Natalija from 1882 stands out with its representative monumentality.
