Wreath of braids wrapped around a head is a traditional hairstyle of every young or old woman in Konavle, be it for a festive or every day usage. It stands out from the typical Mediterranean hairstyle because it has a double intertwining of two braids on the back of the head. For this specific hairstyle hair had to be very long and thick, while for the thinner hair a cloth was inserted so that the braids would look thicker.
