As one of the partners in the Erasmus+ project Unnecessary – useful and aesthetic, Creative approach to recycling, Museums and Galleries of Konavle hosted partners from Austria, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, and coordinators from Poland, from 3rd to 5th of May 2022. Upcycling workshops were held in the House Bukovac and Konavle County Museum, where participants dismantled various e-waste objects and reused cables and wires from them. The aim of the workshop was to create new, artistic objects using the upcycling technique, which consists of reusing objects and materials to create new objects of the same or better quality than the previous one. Thus, giving them added value.

This technique reduces the amount of waste produced, as well as the extraction of new raw materials.
