Jelena Radan & Meritas are announcing the latest joint project Three Stories, which will, after its premiere in Šibenik, be presented on Tuesday, June 7 at 9 PM on the Summer Stage in Cavtat.
Three stories and three top musicians – is the shortest possible description of the concert that our famous singers and authors – Meri Jaman, Anita Valo, and Jelena Radan will hold, next Tuesday.
This is the latest concert project created in their joint workshop, the last of many chapters of their long-term collaboration, in which they have realized a number of projects and won numerous awards. To the great satisfaction of many audiences, this latest project was premiered in 2020 in the magical ambiance of the Fortress of St. Mihovil in Šibenik.
The concert is held in the light of the latest great success of Jelena Radan with the Fado & Voyage concert held with the Zagreb Philharmonic in Lisinski Hall, the recently released new album Pričaj mi, and just launched hit single by Meritas Sve male opsjene directed by Mare Mlini.
These are the stories about three great feelings we all share – happiness, sadness, and love that always prevails in the end. Told in three different ways, through three musical styles and atmospheres: through big hits by Meritas Odjednom ti, Igra, Ova ljubav, Umjesto isprike; through Jelena Radan and her hits Voljet ću te sutra, Sjeti me se ljube; and finally through their joint story, through songs, authors and performers who most influenced their works: Annie Lennox, Cyndi Lauper, Neil Young, Bryan Ferry, Mando Diao, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode...
The program is co-financed through the Competition Jer svirati se mora 2 conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Music Union.
Through their concert, Meritas and Jelena Radan join a valuable campaign to raise funds for the purchase of a painting by Vlaho Bukovac Konavle Weavers from 1920, for the Museums and Galleries of Konavle. The amount of HRK 75,000 for the purchase of the painting is collected exclusively through voluntary donations so that together we can return this small painting by Bukovac home, to Cavtat. The goal is to collect the money until Vlaho Bukovac's birthday on July 4th. All information can be found at konavoski-tkalci.mailchimpsites.com. This concert will also mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Vlaho Bukovac, which we are commemorating throughout this whole year.
Admission to the concert is free - therefore, there is no excuse for not attending. All those who love top performances and good music, come and join us!
