The summer of 2022 was a busy one for the employees of the Museums and Galleries of Konavale. We researched our capacities, possibilities, and visibility, revised our goals and mission, and questioned our communication with the audience. In all of this, we had the expert guidance and wholehearted help of two great experts: Luis Marcelo Mendes and Gordana Viljetić.

Luis Marcelo Mendes is a journalist and consultant to cultural institutions, from Rio de Janeiro. He has been working in the museum sector since 2011 as an international expert in museum branding, technology application, and audience development. He participated in various projects as a curator, lecturer, moderator, and editor of books and essays. He spent four weeks in Konavle as a guest of the Museums and Galleries of Konavle, and his work at our institution ended with a workshop and presentation for Museum’s employees.

This summer, our second guest was our colleague Gordana Viljetić, senior curator from the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, who joined the Museums and Galleries of Konavala in a volunteer arrangement.
